This page describes the PickWiz licensing method, license types, and the process to follow when a license expires.
License overview
PickWiz projects normally use a USB dongle for licensing. Before using the software, insert a valid dongle into the industrial PC running PickWiz.
| Use case | License type | Validity | Action at expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Evaluation project | Time-limited license | Subject to the actual license period | Contact a DexForce sales representative |
| Purchased project | Perpetual license | Perpetual | Not applicable |
Contact a DexForce sales representative for information about other licensing options.
How to use the license
- Insert the dongle into the industrial PC running PickWiz.
- Start PickWiz.
PickWiz is normally ready to use after a valid dongle is inserted.
Handling an expired license
PickWiz displays an expiration message when a license expires. To continue using a time-limited license for an evaluation project, contact a DexForce sales representative to arrange a remote extension.
Apart from expiration messages, there are currently no recurring dongle issues that require separate instructions. If the software cannot be used, first confirm that the dongle is inserted into the industrial PC. Contact a DexForce sales representative if the issue continues.
